Terms of Service

These are a draft pending legal review. They describe how Newma actually works today, and they are written to be read rather than skimmed past.

Newma ("Newma", "the board", "we", "us") is operated by Shookin, a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea. Full business details are at the end of this page.

By creating an account or using Newma, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What Newma is

Newma reads the numbers you connect — your product analytics and your public social accounts — and answers questions about them. It returns one thing to do, one thing to leave alone, and the figures it read to get there.

2. What Newma is not

This is the most important section on the page, so it is near the top.

Newma produces opinions generated by software. It is not professional advice. Nothing it outputs is financial, legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice, and using it does not create any advisory or fiduciary relationship between you and us.

• You make the decision. Newma recommends; you decide, and you carry the outcome.
• We do not guarantee results. No revenue, growth, ranking, conversion or any other outcome is promised, implied or forecast.
• AI output can be wrong. We build guards against invented figures — every number in an answer is checked against the data actually in front of it, and anything untraceable is dropped before you see it — but those guards reduce error, they do not eliminate it. Verify anything before you act on it, especially before you spend money.
• The data is only as good as its source. Newma reads what you connect. If a channel is unreadable, incomplete or wrong at the source, the answer inherits that.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract. Accounts are for one person; do not share your credentials. Keep your password safe and tell us promptly at hello@newma.pro if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for activity under your account.

You must give accurate account information and keep it current.

4. The free week

New accounts get 7 days free, with no card required. Everything the board does is available during the week. If you do nothing at the end of it, nothing is charged and nothing needs cancelling.

5. Subscription, billing and cancellation

After the free week, Newma is US$29 per month, billed in advance, renewing monthly until you cancel.

How payment works. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the Merchant of Record for every purchase. That means Dodo — not Shookin — is the seller of record for the transaction, handles the payment, calculates and remits any applicable sales tax, VAT or GST, and appears on your card statement. Your purchase is also subject to Dodo's terms. We never receive or store your card details.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for — you keep full access until then, and you are not charged again. We do not pro-rate or refund a partial month; the free week exists so you can decide before any money moves.

Refunds. Outside the above, refunds are at our discretion, and are processed by Dodo. If something on our side genuinely failed and you paid for it, write to hello@newma.pro and we will deal with it in good faith.

Statutory rights. Nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in, including any statutory right of withdrawal. Where such a right applies, it applies.

Price changes. If the price changes, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it affects you. Continuing after that is acceptance; cancelling before it is a clean exit.

Failed payments. If a renewal fails, we may suspend access until it succeeds. We will email you before we do.

6. Connecting your data

Newma works by reading data you choose to connect: a product URL, public social handles, view-only access to Google Analytics or Search Console, and numbers you paste in yourself.

• You confirm you have the right to connect anything you connect, and to let us process it.
• Analytics access is view-only and granted by you inviting our service account. You can revoke it at any time from your own Google account, without asking us.
• We do not ask for, and you should never give us, passwords to your third-party accounts.
• Some data is collected from public sources on your behalf. Where a platform's own terms govern that data, those terms apply to it too.

7. Acceptable use

Do not: break the law with it; try to access another account or our systems; scrape, resell or redistribute the service or its output as a product of your own; reverse-engineer it; overload it; upload malware; or use it to generate deceptive or harmful material about identifiable people.

We may suspend an account that does any of these, and will say why.

8. Who owns what

Yours stays yours. The data you connect, the questions you ask, and the decisions you save remain yours. You grant us only the licence we need to operate the service for you — to store, process and display that material back to you, and to send it to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy so the service can run. Nothing more.

Ours stays ours. Newma itself — the software, the interface, the companion, the essays and teardowns published on our blog — belongs to Shookin. You may quote and link to our published writing with attribution. You may not republish it wholesale or pass it off as your own.

Feedback. If you send us an idea for improving Newma, we may use it without owing you anything for it.

9. Availability

Newma is an early-stage product run by a small operation. We do not offer a service-level agreement. Things will occasionally break, change, or be taken down for maintenance. We may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export what you saved.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, Newma is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost data or lost opportunity, however caused.
• Our total liability for any and all claims relating to Newma is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
• Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else a consumer law in your country protects.

12. Indemnity

You will cover us against claims arising from your misuse of Newma, your breach of these Terms, or your connecting data you had no right to connect.

13. Ending the agreement

You may stop using Newma and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, or if we are legally required to. Sections 2, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 15 survive the end of this agreement.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the product before they take effect. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the Seoul Central District Court as the court of first instance.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions of the country you live in, or of your right to bring proceedings there where the law gives you that right.
